Case Study: MOD Military Clothing and Textiles

Ram-ouflage clothing contract surges on

Following award in February 2024, Ramco’s MOD clothing and textiles contract has exceeded all expectations – almost doubling the original sales forecast.

During the early stages of contract start-up Ramco worked quietly behind the scenes to install a new processing line; gain product knowledge and undertake market research. Once ready to go, Ramco used its sales and marketing expertise to reset the marketplace.

800 pallets a month!

A dedicated warehouse; new processing line and bespoke grading tables provide the capability to handle the huge volume (over 800 pallets a month to be precise!) of surplus military clothing. To overcome the initial surge in supply, Ramco assembled an army of 18 specially trained staff members to check; sort and grade the items — ranging from jackets and trousers to tents and sleeping bags.

Over 2,500

pallets processed

Over 350,000

items sold

18 new

staff members

A great result, and more to come!

To meet customer demand and create a competitive marketplace, Ramco initially sold via online auction before further expanding into direct sale routes. To date over 350,000 individual items have been sold with regular auctions taking place every month.

Ramco’s innovative approach has transformed the market for MOD clothing and textiles to the extent that in only eight months, total sales were nearly double the initial estimate for the year. We think that speaks for itself!
