With over 30 years’ experience, Catercall is the go-to provider for repairs, services, and installation for foodservice professionals. From restaurant chains such as TGI Fridays to private security firms and construction companies, they work across a wide range of sectors to keep commercial kitchens cooking. 

Catercall first met Ramco at a hospitality event at a time when they’d just bought a collection of new gas ranges for a prime gas cookline and were looking for a safe and responsible way to dispose of their old kit. Knowing Ramco could help - as well as generate vital funds to reinvest into the company - work soon began.

For over 26 years, circular economy specialists Ramco has been helping businesses and organisations breathe new life into surplus assets. No strangers to working in the foodservice sector, they’ve helped organisations such as Mitchells & Butlers, Centrica and BaxterStorey scale up their green agenda and find value in surplus assets that were once sitting idle. 

Collections commence

It was back in 2020 when Catercall first asked Ramco for help assessing the value of industrial kitchen equipment no longer needed at one of His Majesty’s Prisons in the West Midlands. Items were collected, transported to Ramco’s specialist facility in Skegness, and then prepared for onward sale to customers who could give them a new lease of life. 

The partnership grew from there with more assets being collected from Catercall’s offices and depot in Birmingham and Surrey, which is home to one of their business acquisitions, JDS Catering Equipment. Everything from computers and telecom systems to kitchen appliances and equipment has been sold, generating thousands of pounds of income, and saving hundreds of pieces of good working equipment from landfill.
