Ramco has been appointed to oversee a series of online auctions of surplus tools and machinery for Scotland-based Specialist Equipment Solutions (SES) – a subsidiary of a major international EPC contractor.
SES provides advanced tool and equipment rental services for onshore and offshore energy operations across the UK. From welding and safety to communications and testing equipment, their tools and technical expertise span various operational requirements within the energy sector.
During an inventory review, SES identified an extensive range of working tools and equipment no longer needed and ready to go to a new home.
The equipment will be sold in a series of dedicated auction sales on Ramco’s online platform, with the first scheduled to begin on 6 February 2026 and run for 11 days. Further auctions will take place in April and June.
The first auction will include around 1,000 different lots ranging from a Makita Breaker and Elpress hydraulic crimper to a Fluke process calibrator and Wolf floodlight, allowing smaller businesses and members of the public to purchase used but well-maintained, high-spec tools and equipment at significantly lower prices than brand new models.
Daniel Flaxington, Managing Director of SES, said:
“As we continue to evolve our fleet to meet our customers' operational demands, partnering with Ramco helps us responsibly transfer surplus assets and create space for next-generation technologies.”
Henry Sanderson from Ramco’s Business Development team added:
“We’re so pleased to be working with SES to help sell their surplus tools and equipment.
“Ramco has strong relationships within the energy and utilities sector, helping clients like Uniper, Centrica and NRS reuse their unwanted equipment, so we’re thrilled to be partnering with SES.
“Our hassle-free, tailored service means SES can make the most of the value in its surplus equipment, reduce operational and storage costs, and efficiently clear space. We’re looking forward to getting started with the auctions in the new year.”
