Ramco is awarded Ministry of Defence Commercial Assets Contract

Reuse specialist Ramco has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for the collection, marketing, sale, and disposal of commercial assets. The Defence Equipment Sales Authority, the MOD’s sole authority for the sale of surplus military equipment and inventory, awarded the UK-wide contract.

The contract facilitates the sale of a diverse range of genuine British Military issue surplus, varying from machine tools and electronics to generators and boats. The contract now includes clothing and textiles ranging from camouflage jackets and boots to tents and camping equipment.

Neil Sanderson, Managing Director of Ramco, commented:

“This is a fantastic result for Ramco, and I am so proud of our team who worked hard to win the new business. We look forward to further developing our relationship with the MOD and continuing to provide them with a high level of service”.

In addition to the lorry loads of equipment already arriving every day, Ramco expects to process over 6,500 pallets of clothing and textiles each year from military sites across the UK. Items will be available to Government and trade customers worldwide through its dedicated online marketplace and auction site.

With nearly 30 years experience working with the MOD, Ramco is delighted to add this contract to the existing scrap metal disposal contract it also operates.

Since 1996, Ramco has been finding value in surplus assets and extending product lifecycles – playing a key role in the circular economy by preventing functional equipment going to landfill. Working with Government departments and other public sector organisations across the UK, Ramco has helped rehome millions of items.
