A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT

When Ramco were asked to provide a solution for the extraction of generating sets from a bunker, considerable planning was required. Not only were they more than 50 feet underground but situated in a plant room at the end of several long corridors and around some pretty tight corners! However, close liaison with all relevant departments ensured that equipment was decommissioned with the minimal amount of disruption. Once disconnected the generators were skated along several corridors and lifted to the surface through a vent shaft where they were loaded onto transport. Over the following week all the remaining ancillary equipment was removed and the facility left in a clean and tidy state.

Consignment consisted of:
5 off generators weighing 9 tonnes each
2 lorry loads of switchgear and electrical cabinets
18 tonnes of electrical cable
Over 2,000 back up batteries
